Princess syndrome..

Many of you might know of the so-called Princess syndrome, and if you have been you China or Hong Kong, I’m sure you have seen it. The so-called princess syndrome is the one disease I can not stand.. It really disgust me.. I’m sorry to all the sweet princesses out there, but that’s the way it is.
Anyways, the princess syndrome is really just something we call the really spoiled girls, which get everything they point at, and always have it their way. These girls are just really used to getting it their way, and if they don’t hell breaks out.. Like literally.. This is a list myhongkonghusband posted on a blog post a while ago, these are some of their symptoms;

  • Raising nonsense requests and demands to others
  • Advocating materialism
  • Having extreme emotions
  • Being self-indulgent, not logical
  • Not concerned about social issues
  • Not willing to take any responsibility (to shirk one’s duty)
  • Being self-centered
  • Desiring to be an authority
  • Yearning to rely on others
  • Having a strong sense of self-superiority
  • Being self-willed

This is just some of the descriptions of them, but I guess it sums up what they are really like.. Most people who either live in China, or have lived in China, probably know someone like this – I know quite a few of them, and I’m not a big fan of them. I went shopping with a princess like this one time, and she reaaaallyyy wanted to buy a LV bag and a pair of sunglasses, the only problem was that her boyfriend was not there, so she called him and told him to come straight away and bring money. She would not leave the place until her boyfriend came and bought her the bag and the sunglasses.. Lucky girl? I don’t think so..
That situation is nothing compared to this video, about a girl wanting her boyfriend to buy her a car.. The guy says that he can’t afford that because he got to buy them a flat as well..

So how do these “gentlemen” handle this? Of course, some of these girls have their prince that also like to spend and show off their money, but what if he is just an ordinary guy? They are even too afraid to stand up for themselves, and say no.. And when they do say no, the situation becomes even more complicated..
Today I came across an article on “We are lǎowài – 我们是老外 “ on facebook.

A man jumped to his death after a furious row with his girlfriend who insisted they go into another clothes shop.
CCTV shows Tao Hsiao, 38, escorting his girlfriend around a shopping mall in Xuzhou, Jiangsu
province, east China.
After five hours Tao finally had enough and demanded to go home.
Tao Hsiao is carried out of the shopping mall on a stretcher but he was pronounced dead.
Eyewitnesses say he could be heard saying they already had more bags than they could carry, but she insisted on going into one more shop where the was a special offer on shoes.
An eyewitness said: ‘He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes that she could wear in a lifetime and it was pointless buying any more. ‘She started shouting at him accusing him of being a skinflint and of spoiling Christmas, it was a really heated argument.’The shouting match ended when the man chucked the bags on the floor and jumped over the balcony, smashing into Christmas decorations on his way down before hitting the floor seven stories below causing shocked shoppers to flee in panic.
Emergency services arrived at the scene but Tao was killed immediately from the impact of the fall.
A shopping spokesman said: ‘His body was removed fairly quickly.
‘He actually landed on one of the stalls below and then fell to the floor so although the store was damaged it meant he didn’t hit anybody.
‘This is a tragic incident, but this time of year can be very stressful for many people.’ ”
It is a shame that the situation can become this bad, I really wish this could be a wake up call to some of the Princesses, and that they could realize that they can be just as happy with a bag from H&M rather then a bag from Louis Vuitton or Gucci..

What is your opinion about these princesses? And what do you think about this man decision? I know it sounds like I really don’t like these girls.. I just wish they could all have a wake up call

What is China?

Haha.. No this is not really China, well maybe it is to some people, at least, that’s all I knew about China when I first moved there.. Now when I watch this video I just go “no..”, “not true”, “there’s more to that”.. haha..>.< But The Fung Bros are so funnyyy. haha .. I could sit and watch their videos all day long.. Anyone else who have heard about the Fung bros before? Or watched some of their other videos? 🙂

My friends & 微信..

Something that has been on my mind ever since I left Beijing this summer is; Friends. When I first moved to Beijing, I thought it was so weird, and I didn’t really know what to make of it..I went to an international school, with students from all around the world, and I made some good friends, but then I realized.. Going to an international school, people always come and go! And that reeeaaaally sucks, big time! I made a really good friend, well I made more than one friend, but this one was there for me, no matter what.. Mariana, my Mexican buddy~ The thing about living in a country where there are not that many rules, well there are, probably more than in Norway, but not really any rules we had to take into consideration when we were hanging out. I think I did everything with Mariana, she was the first one I went out with (partying), we did everything together, she was like a sister to me, and she still is.. When she told me she was moving back to Mexico in 2011, it sucked, I mean she had only been in Beijing for 2 years, but that’s long enough to become super close, and then when she was moving, that’s when it really hit me, how much it sucks to be an international student / living in another country, because as I said, people come and go..
Mariana and I, at a music festival, long time agooo ~

When  I started at University in Beijing, the saaaame happened.. haha. It’s so great making friends with people from different countries, but wow, it sucks when someone’s leaving.. Thankfully some of my really good friends are Chinese and are still in Beijing, and I will go there soooon!
My 宝贝, Emma ~

I thought keeping in touch with my friends would be hard, but thanks to 微信(weixin / wechat) , that’s not a problem.. wechat has become my bestfriend!! haha.. I use it all day everyday, it’s a super smart application where you can video chat, send voice messages, share your photos. I even got my grandma in Norway to use it! haha.. I use 微信 everyday, I talk to my parents, my grandma, my friends, my 老公 and my 老公公 & 老婆婆.

So this is what my convos are like.. haha. The last one is a group chat with my 老公 and my 老公公 & 老婆婆.

This was supposed to be about friends, and like what it’s like when you’re an international student but it obviously became all messy and I ended up talking about wechat as well, but oh well, wechat is also my friend >.<

I was thinking I will get some of my friends to say what they feel about being in this situation as well, and then write about it ^^
